What a discovery call actually is

It is a real conversation, not a sales visit. We talk about what you are trying to change, roughly what that kind of work costs in Calgary, what the timeline looks like, and whether your budget and your wish list are in the same room. You will speak with Jonathan — the owner, and the person who would run your project.

By the end of it you will know whether it makes sense to keep talking. If it does not, we will say so. That is a better outcome for both of us than a month of design on a project that was never going to work.

You do not need to have it all figured out. Most people arrive with a room they do not like and no idea what to do about it. That is a completely normal starting point.

Is there a charge for the first conversation?
The discovery call is a conversation and it costs you nothing but the time. What we do charge for is design — the drawings, selections and specification that make a genuine fixed price possible. We tell you what that costs before you commit to anything, and it is yours regardless of who ends up building the project.
How far out are you booking?
It moves with the season and what is already in the schedule. If you have a date that matters — a family gathering, a baby arriving, a house going on the market — say so on the first call and we will be straight with you about whether it is achievable rather than stringing you along.
What should I have ready?
Nothing mandatory. Helpful if you have them: rough photos of the space, a sense of what you want to change, and a budget ceiling even if it is a wide range. A budget number is not us qualifying you — it is the fastest way to tell you whether your project and your expectations line up.
Do you work in my area?
We work across Calgary and the surrounding communities — Airdrie, Okotoks, Chestermere and nearby. If you are further out, ask. Sometimes the answer is yes.
Will I get put on a mailing list?
No. Your information is used to talk to you about your project and nothing else. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to anything you did not ask for.
What if I am 6 months away from doing anything?
Then it is a good time to talk. The people who get the best results are the ones who started the conversation early, understood the numbers, and had time to plan. There is no cost to being early.
