Several federal, provincial, and utility programs offer rebates and tax credits for Calgary homeowners who upgrade their homes in specific ways. Here’s what’s available in 2026.
Canada Greener Homes Grant
- Up to $5,600 in grants for eligible upgrades
- Requires a pre and post EnerGuide home energy audit
- Eligible upgrades: insulation, windows/doors, heat pumps, water heaters, solar panels, airtightness

Canada Greener Homes Loan
- Up to $40,000 interest-free financing
- 10-year repayment period
- Same eligible upgrades as the grant
- Can be combined with the grant
Enbridge Gas Rebates (Alberta)
- High-efficiency furnace (96%+ AFUE): rebate up to $1,000
- Smart thermostat: $75
- Home energy assessment: $300 rebate

Secondary Suite Incentives

Multi-Generational Home Renovation Tax Credit (MHRTC)
