The Story Of Olympic City

Every company has a story to tell and Olympic City is no exception. The truth is we’ve been around the home business, in earnest, since 2003. Actually, Jonathan, our Owner, was working on homes in the summer to help fund his Olympic dream way back in the early 1990’s. (Yes, he’s THAT old.)

Now, we’re a husband and wife team that’s done hundreds of projects over the last twenty years. AND…we’ve been 100% referral only. (That’s why this website may need a bit of work. We haven’t really needed one!)

Company History

Humble Beginnings

What started as a way to earn some money during the summers to help fund his Olympic aspirations, Jonathan used to paint houses and was a laborer for a high-end renovation and remodeling construction company in Hingham, Massachusetts.

But before that, it looks like Jonathan inherited the genes of his Grandfather who was an immigrant from Yugoslavia. A mason, a carpenter, and a farmer, Jonathan has that flowing through his veins.

Fast forward to 2001 and Jonathan meets a girl on a plane from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas. She sat in the window seat, he sat in the aisle seat, and no one sat between them. That ended up being a fateful day as Jonathan and Michelle got married a few short years later.

For ‘Date Nights” Jonathan and Michelle would watch design and construction shows on HGTV, starting a passion for renovations and remodeling. Twenty-plus years later they’ve worked on hundreds (probably thousands) of homes. Jonathan even spent some time working in the third-busiest renovation market in the United States honing his skills in project management managing clients with homes that were sometimes two hundred years old! (Including his childhood home.)

Today, Olympic City has morphed into a full-service renovation and remodeling company that has been 100% referral-based. In 2024, to take things to the next level, Olympic City participated in its first Renovation Show meeting hundreds of homeowners.

Olympic City has become a quiet, yet mighty player in the renovation and remodeling space in Calgary and is looking forward to expanding the Olympic City community.
